📅 14th November 2022 | General Gun Posts
A great opportunity to learn the art of gunsmithing at our premises in Birmingham. Full training given including day release to obtain an engineering qualification. To apply, you require a minimum of a GCSE in English, Maths and Science. To be successful you must demonstrate a desire to learn and have the commitment to complete the four year apprenticeship. This vacancy is ideally suited to someone of school leaving age who lives within a commutable distance to the city.
We are incredibly busy at Horton & Sons and as such need to increase our workforce to match the ever increasing demand. We are first and foremost, practical gunsmiths. Therefore you will have a huge variety of work that you will eventually work on. From sleeving an old Holland & Holland, replacing worn ejectors on a Purdey to working on some of our own best guns.
We offer good rates of pay with incremental increases based on set milestones. Matched pension contributions. A team bonus and above all we offer a great atmosphere to work in, that is challenging, yet fun. It doesn’t feel like work when you enjoy it.
